The Lights

Witness a colorful canopy of 1 million lights moving in time to music on the city streets of Macon, Georgia. See how a local citizen reimagined public space for the holidays with the generous support of the Peyton Anderson Foundation, Knight Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Central GA to create downtown Macon’s most innovative tool for economic development.

The Music

Hear your favorite Christmas carols but with a new twist! Christmas lights are synchronized to music arranged and produced by Macon Pops, an innovative, high energy, and world class orchestra that performs with orchestral musicians from around the southeast and across the country. Each song features a local artist keeping Macon’s rich music heritage alive.

The Setting

Explore downtown Macon’s 80+ restaurants and retailers in our walkable urban core. Enjoy a full slate of programming during your time in Macon, from theatrical productions at Theatre Macon or the Nutcracker at the Grand Opera House to photos with the Grinch at Golden Bough Bookstore. There is something for everyone in downtown Macon!

 
 

Macon Pops Christmas Spectacular

Free and open to the public!
Bring your own chair and enjoy a live concert by your Macon Pops synchronized with the lights on Poplar Street and Third Street.

 

Nightly Shows

Lights on nightly from 6:00pm to 11:00pm

Each show lasts about 45 minutes.
Shows begin at the top of the hour at 6:00pm, 7:00pm, 8:00pm, & 9:00pm. Lights stay on from 10-11pm.

The first set of nightly shows begins on Friday, November 29, 2024 and the last show takes place on January 5, 2025.

The Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza spans 5.5 city blocks in the center of downtown Macon. Nightly shows are completely open and free to the public.
